Exhibition: Where do we go from here?

Our first event on reimagining Syria, hosted at the McGill School of Architecture, will exhibit a series of images of cities that were heavily damaged during the Syrian civil war—contrasted with pictures drawn by you, our audience, depicting what you wish will arise from the destruction.

In all estimates Syria has lost most of its key infrastructure—housing, education buildings, hospitals, and places of worship.
But as with all wars, they eventually end. But when Syrians have the chance to return home, what will they return to? What will the country look like? How do we maintain the country’s essence, whilst in the process of rebuilding?

We want you to bring an element of hope amongst the destruction that has so often been depicted in the news—we want to reconstruct.

This is a huge job for architects, similar to the effort Europe went through after the first and second World Wars. We hope that by having the exhibition at the School of Architecture it will inspire students and professors alike to start thinking and discussing post-war reconstruction in Syria.

EXHIBITION: OCT 10-20TH.
